Is There an Acid Reflux Cure?

There are many people who suffer with the effects of acid reflux and are searching everyday for an acid reflux cure. But is there really anything that can be described as an acid reflux cure? Scientists and researchers are hard at work looking for anything that can be considered an acid reflux cure.

What most people who suffer with acid reflux dont realize is that the way they live their life is a direct cause of their digestive condition. The digestive system is the cause of all the discomfort and when you load it with foods that are known to be acid reflux triggers; you can only expect that you will be suffering for your choices later on.

To affect a lasting acid reflux cure, there will have to be changes made to your lifestyle. You may find this difficult if not traumatic at first, but when you begin to live a life free of acid reflux symptoms; you will find that your efforts at an acid reflux cure have been rewarded.

Eating certain types of foods can bring about an acid reflux episode. To help you in your acid reflux cure quest, you can keep a food diary for a few weeks and note all the foods and beverages you consume. In this way you can see with your own eyes which foods bring on symptoms and which foods can be safely enjoyed without after effects. This is a great way for you to begin to look for an acid reflux cure.

When you see which foods and beverages are the culprits, you can simply remove them from your diet and you will see that it makes a big difference in the way you feel. You will no longer have that burning sensation in your throat, or feel as if the food you have just eaten is stuck in your throat.

Doing your own research on acid reflux cure is the only way you will manage your painful symptoms for the long haul. If you are fairly young and dont take steps to find an acid reflux cure that works for you, you will spend many years suffering needlessly with the effects of acid reflux.

Natural Relief from Chronic Heartburn ? Is There a Way to Treat Chronic Heartburn, Naturally?

Natural Relief from Chronic Heartburn ? Is There a Way to Treat Chronic Heartburn, Naturally?

Chronic heartburn is a common complaint and the pharmaceutical industry has made a fortune providing medications such as Prilosec, Nexium, Zantac and other antacids. In this article we explore whether it is possible to get effective natural relief from chronic heartburn.

Almost everyone has suffered from heartburn at some time in their lives and experienced the painful burning and nauseous sensation which is distinctly uncomfortable. So, we must sympathise with the folk who suffer from chronic heartburn, where the distress can become intolerable.

So what is heartburn?

Quite simply, heartburn, or acid reflux is caused when the stomach contents, which are highly acidic, flow back into the esophagus or food pipe. It is the acidity which causes the burning pain because, while the lining of the stomach is capable of handling the acids, the delicate esophagus lining is not.

When this occurs only occasionally there is no problem other than temporary discomfort. However, when acid reflux occurs regularly, the esophagus lining can become severely attacked and this can result in permanent damage and even esophogeal cancer.

So, what can be done to remedy the problem?

Apart from prescribed medication, there are numerous natural remedies available from simple “home remedies” to basic lifestyle changes. If the problem is not too serious, these, or combinations of them can actually cure the complaint.

But what can you do if the problem persists?

Of course, when any medical problem persists, one should always seek medical advice.

However, there is a growing school of thought, which believes that treating heartburn with prescription drugs will only give temporary relief because it is only the symptoms of the problem that are addressed and not the root cause.

Heartburn results from the combination of a number of factors and if you are to get complete relief from chronic heartburn then you need to tackle each one of these factors. In other words the entire complex “internal environment” causing the heartburn must be treated and you must approach the problem as a whole i.e. holistically.

Consequently, following years of research, a number of programs are now available, that have achieved great success in giving people an opportunity to get permanent natural relief from chronic heartburn and give them their lives back.

Surely this must be worth consideration?

Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease: Is There A Solution?

Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease: Is There A Solution?

The typical signs of gastro esophageal reflux disease include regurgitation and heartburn, but can also be seen as pains in the chest, dry coughing, reactive respiration difficulties, painful swallowing, indigestion and a sensation of something lodged in your throat. Gastro esophageal reflux disease, known in layman’s terms as acid reflux, is a chronic, distressing and discomforting medical ailment negatively influencing one’s quality of life. Over time, ignoring GERD can mean degeneration into serious complications like ulcers and Barrett’s esophagus, as well as a cancer that starts off in glandular tissue, and that is called adenocarcinoma.

In published research in 1997 in the Gastroenterology journal, Locke, Talley and Fett showed that acid reflux symptoms happen weekly to up to 20% of people. Prevalence of 30% to 40% was shown for the general public by further research. This indicates that gastro esophageal reflux disease is a widespread scourge in developed western society, especially in the US. About 60% of individuals have GERD symptoms once per month or more.

Gastro esophageal reflux disease is a medical conundrum with complex etiology, meaning that it is brought on by several factors, both inner and outer. Direct contributing factors are: debilitation of the LES (lower esophageal sphincter) muscle which causes stomach juices to travel back from the digestive system to the esophagus with an excess of stomach acidity.

Substandard diet plans can put undue stress and workload on the digestive system, when the system is trying to operate properly to prevent surplus acidity or back flow of contents. Aging also worsens the problem as general relaxing of all muscles including the LES means that acid reflux is among the difficulties that are heightened, as a person gets older. Several hidden causes also provoke acid reflux condition in addition to these other more visible physiological factors. Diet and lifestyle have a direct or indirect influence, as do genetic characteristics, which then shape the context in which GERD develops. As an example, specific foodstuffs have been pinpointed as weakening the LES and being directly responsible for acid reflux.

Solutions for Acid reflux can be classified in three main ways: surgical operation, cures by medicaments and all natural holistic programs.

Surgery for GERD targets local repair of the malfunctioning LES. The operation consists of wrapping the gastric fundus (parts of the stomach) around the bottom of the esophagus so that the natural valve can be reinforced between the stomach and the esophagus. In this way refluxed content from the stomach is prevented from meeting the esophagus. Surgery for acid reflux has significant drawbacks: after operation, complications such as difficulty in belching, dysphagia, diarrhea and flatulence are all possible. Death can also follow in 1 in 1,000 patients even though the mortality rate is relatively low.

Medications of GERD have been designed to bring temporary relief by targeting the ailments of the digestive system that are related to acid reflux. For instance, antacids have been designed to neutralize esophageal acidity, while Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs) inhibit the stomach cell mechanism that generated acid in the stomach. Regrettably, many medicaments only tackle GERD symptoms, and the underlying causes are simply ignored. The effect of acid reflux medications is only temporary and a long-term dependency is often created while the real reasons for gastro esophageal reflux disease go unchecked. GERD medications used for the long term also cause numerous secondary effects.

Many medical studies published over the last decade have pointed to the use of several all-natural holistic protocols to positively deal with gastro esophageal reflux disease and even allow for full restoration of health. Solutions in these programs include; elevation of the head of the bed by six inches, reducing the eating of fat, quitting smoking, stopping alcohol intake, weight loss, elimination of toxins and eradicating parasites, as well as avoiding eating large meals or food that weakens the LES.

Holistic treatments can bring amazing positive changes to your well being and quality of life. Did anyone tell you? There is an all-natural holistic solution to stop gastro esophageal reflux disease and effectively and safely keep GERD away from you.
